You can defeat the purpose of this operation by sipping high
calorie fluids or sucking hard candy. The operation only limits the
quantity of solid food that can be consumed. We will not perform
this operation on people who cannot adjust to drinking low-calorie
beverages. It is also possible to widen the dime-size opening
between the upper, smaller portion of the stomach and the rest of
the intestines by forcing too much into the small stomach pouch
before complete healing has occurred ( somewhere between two
and six months after the operation). This would allow the stomach
pouch to empty too rapidly and you would then become hungry
shortly after you eat.

Is there any way I can interfere with the success of my operation?
